We & Us

Priorities can make u lose control,
And also make you ignore the obvious.

Our bringing up has always been under pressure,
Ever since the birth of society and its fissures.

Half our childhood is spent in following norms,
Which do not make sense when we are young and in form.

Why do we go to a temple, a church or a mosque?
Just because we have been told to worship a rock.

Our religions create divisions,
Cause someone is interested in subtractions,
And no one gives a damn bout additions or multiplications.

We discriminate our own feelings,
And put on an act when we have to help our fellow beings.

Hypocrisy is in our blood,
Cause we never try to come out of our shameful hood.

We claim to learn from our mistakes,
And end up repeating them acting like they were fake.

We fail to take a stand,
Even while we witness violence in its grand.

Life keeps playing games,
And we don't get the hint, not to remain the same.

Will there be an end to all the blame games,
Or do we have to walk the lonely lane.......again?

poems starts on a personal lane trajects on a social lane but finally ends on a personal lane but the point is it's heartening to see a sense of awareness and introspection about things within us and around us ...in this mad rush nobody bothers to give it a thought
its quite strange that we so are engrossed in our personal ambitions that we are actually losing a sense of purpose....

out of all ze poems me thinks this one connects with everyone. Moreover it talks about something which even I've questioned every single day..
It is more like talking to oneself and on another level talking to all thats unusual..[:P]

good comment eh Darryl..?
